Eric Dean Spencer

Eric Dean Spencer, 39, of Evansville, Ind., and formerly of Ottoville, died Tuesday at his residence.
He was born Nov. 20, 1968, in Lima, to Dean and Gloria (Van Oss) Spencer of Evansville.
Other survivors include his brother Judd (Nichole) Spencer of Cloverdale; niece Kelsi Dickman of Cloverdale; nephew Austin Tazz Eickholt of Cloverdale; grandmother Dolores Van Oss of Ottoville; former spouse Gwenn Spencer of Cloverdale; and stepson Nathan Geise of Cloverdale.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph Van Oss and Howard and Irene Spencer.
Mr. Spencer was a 1987 Ottoville High School graduate who was employed for three years as a deputy with the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office. For the last five years, he was employed with the City of Evansville as a lead man for the city cemeteries. He held membership at St. Benedict Cathedral and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 73 Auxiliary. He was an avid motorcyclist and a man of extraordinary talents.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9 a.m. today at St. Benedict Cathedral in Evansville, the Rev. Gregory Chamberlin O.S.B. officiating. Burial will be private.
