Lancer baseballers
batter Mustangs
MIDDLE POINT — Lincolnview’s baseball team was the visiting squad on the scoreboard at Lincolnview High School Thursday afternoon versus Allen East.
It didn’t matter.
The Lancer bats came alive to pummel the Mustangs 18-9 in Northwest Conference action.
“We really had an outstanding offensive effort tonight, collecting 22 hits. We took an early 7-3 lead after two innings,” Lancer coach Roger Salisbury said. “Every time Allen East would gain some momentum, we would come back with a good inning. Our first five hitters each had three hits. Jordan Simpson threw strikes and our defense was solid.”
Allen East (6-8) did collect 13 hits against Simpson (6 IP, 11 Ks) and Kyle Thatcher but couldn’t match the Lancers (3-10).
Mike Evans (home run and double), Lance Dasher (home run), Simpson (2 doubles), Matt Evans (double) and Roy Salisbury each had three hits for the “visitors”. Thatcher added a triple and a double.
Swaney (home run) had three hits for the Mustangs.
