Adolph and Mildred (Beckman) Beining of Ottoville will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on May 8.
A Mass and dinner will be celebrated with family on Sunday, May 4.
The couple were married on that date in 1948 by Rev. Knoepfle at Landeck Elementary School.
Adolph and Mildred met at a Landeck Church Social. Ottie served 29 months in the service during World War II. They had their wedding day set for May 8, 1948. In March, a tornado demolished the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck. Mass was then held across the street in the school auditorium so that’s where they were married.
Their children are Ken (Rita) Beining of Fort Jennings, Jane (Bob) Kahle of Kalida and Rosie (Bill) Heitmeyer, Bill  (Bonnie) Beining, Carl (Ginny) Beining and Steve (Lori)  Beining of Ottoville. They also have 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Adolph worked at Gramm Trailer, Fruehauf Trailers, M&W Trailers and retired from farming.
Mildred was a secretary and homemaker.
