DEAR EDITOR:
I would like to take some time and thank the Delphos 1 Destroyers indoor soccer team for the most exciting and unforgettable season that I have coached yet.
You kids greatly improved from start to finish. There was never any one individual player. You all played as a team and I couldn’t be any prouder of you guys than I am right now. Your total record for the two session season was unbelievable, ending up with 16 wins and only 4 losses.
As I told all of you, I promise next year you will be kept together as a team. I will not separate you.
To the parents of these spectacular young athletes: Thank you for putting up with all the practices and the other little things I put you guys through. It was all greatly appreciated. Especially for allowing the kids to play in the President’s Day Classic in Dublin.
Also, to every one of you kids for helping Gage throughout the recovery of his surgery, both mentally and physically. And for allowing him to step right back on the team as if he was never missing. Believe me, it was a long nine weeks for him not being able to play.
I want also to send a specia0l thanks to Kevin Moore for the sponsoring of the jerseys for each player. And a very special thank you to Dave Fanning for the sponsoring of the President’s Day Classic, as well as the new jerseys you provided to the kids for the tourney. We need a lot more people like you two to help out with these kinds of events involving these young athletes.
And last but not least, thanks to Kevin Kaskel for helping me with these kids and the other things you helped with.
Until next soccer season, have a great spring and summer and I will see you all again soon.
