Joseph Martin, 76, of Delphos, died at 8:25 a.m. Saturday at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 22, 1931, in Delphos, to James and Millie (Wholtman) Martin.
On Aug. 18, 1951, he married Mary F. Riley, who survives in Delphos.
Other survivors include son Jeffrey (Jeanne) Martin of Delphos; daughters Sharon (Bill) Smith and Debra (Robert) Crider of Delphos and Donna (Robert) Eickholt of Ottoville; grandchildren Billy, Amanda, Amber, Jamie, Jesse, Lacy, Jordan; and great-grandchildren Sadie, Samantha, Shelby, Kobe, Kaden, Kayla, Kylee, Emma, Tyler and Beau.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry, Howard, Richard and Jim Martin; four sisters, Gladys Lucas, Ethel Feathers, Esther Hoover and Jane Whitaker; one grandson, Jason Martin; one granddaughter, Shelly Smith; and one great-grandson, Chase Miller.
Mr. Martin retired from Fruehauf Corp. after 38 years of employment. He held membership with Pentecostal Harvest Field Church in Scott, had a great love for the Lord, was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and liked to hunt and fish.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, the Rev. Terry Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. today and from noon until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the American Diabetic Association or donor’s choice.
