Ronald Lee ‘Tiny’ Askins

Ronald Lee “Tiny” Askins, 56, of Fort Jennings, died at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 16, 1952, in Lima, to Wendell and Margaret (Fisher) Askins.
Survivors include daughter Carrie Askins of Delphos; sisters Theresa (Michael) Vitantonio of Ocoee, Fla., Mary (Richard) Alger of Elida and Becky (Arnold) Osting of Fort Jennings; brothers Daniel Askins of Lima, David (Sally) Askins of Pharr, Texas, Bill (Janice) Askins of Fort Jennings, Fred (Tina) Askins of Twinsburg and Steve Askins of Delphos.
He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Bonnie Askins; and nephew Sam Askins.
Mr. Askins worked with Tom Ahl Buick, Lima Superior Coach and Lima Collision. He also owned a corndog stand at the county fair. He held memberships with St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Jennings, the Fort Jennings American Legion, the Delphos Veterans of Foreign Wars and Delphos Eagles Lodge. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed cooking for friends and family.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rev. Joseph Przybysz officiating.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Saturday and 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Harter and Schier Funeral Home and for an hour prior to the services Monday at the church. A vigil will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the family.
