Alfred A. Miller, 92, of Delphos, died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday at Vancrest Health Care Center.
He was born Jan. 9, 1916, in Landeck, to Peter and Anna (Heitz) Miller.
On May 2, 1942, he married Jean Huber, who preceded him in death on Sept. 13, 2007.
Survivors include a son, Gary (Virginia) Miller of Dayton; daughter Marilyn (David) Metzger of Fort Jennings; sisters Mary Maag of Columbus Grove and Rose Pohlman of Delphos; brothers Arnold (Calista) Miller and Joe (Lena) Miller of Landeck; grandchildren Chris (K.C.) Miller, Tim (Colleen) Miller and Marc (Monica) Miller, Amy (Joe) Errera, Darrell (McKelle) Metzger, Kim (Drew) Hersh and Kari (Paul) Fox; and great-grandchildren Jason, Kyle, Sean, Eric, Lauren and Marcos Miller, Landon Metzger and Hannah and Emma Hersh.
Mr. Miller was a farmer who held membership with the Delphos Eagles and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, eating at Jim’s, woodworking and gardening.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rev. Melvin Verhoff officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery in Landeck.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, where a parish wake will begin at 7:30 p.m.
