Musketeers shoot down Falcons

BLUFFTON — The Fort Jennings  Musketeers  boys basketball team pulled away from a see-saw first half of action  Wednesday  and downed Riverdale 50-40 in their Division IV sectional contest at Bluffton High School.
The Musketeers (12-9) move on to face the Arlington Red Devils in the finals on Friday evening (approximately 8 p.m.).

Landon Kessler led Riverdale with 10 points.
The Musketeers led 15-8 after one period of action.
Riverdale came back to tie the contest and a Kessler 3-pointer gave the Falcons their first lead in the second stanza. The game would rock back and forth from there but a late basket by senior A.J. Korte (5 points) gave Jennings a boost going into the break with a 26-22 advantage.
Riverdale kept pace in the third with Kessler adding four points in the frame but a pair of Chandler triples kept the Musketeers in the lead going into the final period, leading 38-34.
Riverdale  could  muster just three baskets from the field in the fourth as Jennings built  up  as  much  as  a  13-point  lead,  outscoring  their foe 11-6 to gain the victory and move on in the tournament.
