Haggard playing around in the toy department
Each time I go to the Interfaith Thrift Shop there is something new I see. Today, I want to introduce Barb Haggard who has taken over the toy department and has made a difference in the way toys, large and small, are displayed and arranged according to size, series and displayed to a great advantage to both the customer and those who are working at the shop. Small items are bagged together according to the series they belong to.
There is an abundance of nice, clean, good childrens books neatly displayed in crates and easy to sort through. You can find many stuffed toys, dolls, lots of games and puzzles for you to select from. Barb drives school bus and works the noon hour at the cafeteria and volunteers hours in between her regular jobs. We thank her for the good and new ideas she has implemented in the department. Those who work with her are Marcia Conner, Barb Kollsmith and Karen Elwer.
She loves what she is doing. Small cars, trucks and many interesting things are arranged on shelves. It is just a delight to look and see all the nice, clean things displayed in the toy department. All toys are inspected before they are put out for sale.
On behalf of the Thrift Shop, I want to express a most sincere thanks to those who clean the building. To the men who come in each day to tote the heavy boxes and bags and those who clean and inspect and repair toys. Your volunteer efforts mean so much to all the workers. You are greatly appreciated. All volunteers are greatly appreciated for all their faithful services. We welcome all volunteers who wish to sign up to work.
Thanks to all who donate. The weather is cold outside, a perfect time to clean closets and cupboards. We are in need of housewares and clothing.
Valentine’s Day is on display now. Come in and look us over.
Please box or bag items you donate. If you have dishes or glassware, and you would like to donate them you can knock on the back door during working hours instead of dropping them in the window. This will eliminate items being broken.
Feb. 15 and 16 will be $.25 sale days to make room for the change in seasons. Come check us out. Prom dresses are on display. We have a large, beautiful selection.
The Delphos community is lucky to have such a caring population of individuals who are willing to donate, volunteer and share with others. The shop serves many people in need because of this generous response by the community to the growing needs of the people they serve. Thanks to one and all for your continual support. Your generosity is truly a blessing to the Delphos community.
