CONTINENTAL — The Ottoville Lady Green took their undefeated Putnam County League record to Continental to take on the undefeated Continental Lady Pirates Thursday night.
However, the guests would emerge from a sloppy, turnover-riddled contest to take a 42-34 victory and stay unscathed in league play, along with the Pandora-Gilboa Lady Rockets.
Senior Brittany Pohlman led all scorers with 17 points, while classmate Gina Beining added 17 rebounds.
Brooke Tegenkamp led the Lady Pirates with 10 points, draining two from long range in the effort.
The teams were knotted at 16-16 at the break and 26-26 after three periods.
The guests were able to pull away midway into the final canto.
Krystal Markward (7 points) had what turned out to be the game-changing basket midway into the fourth period, knocking down a shot from beyond the arc to give the Green a 5-point lead.
The green and gold never looked back after that.
Beining pulled down five boards in the span as the visitors doubled-up  their PCL foe 16-8 in the final eight minutes.
Ottoville moves to 10-1 overall and 4-0 in the PCL, while the Lady Pirates drop to 9-4 and 2-1 in the PCL.
Ottoville brings in those same Lady Rockets Tuesday in a battle for the top spot in the conference.
