Two unopposed for city school board seats
Two Delphos City School District residents are unopposed for two seats on the school board Tuesday.
Ronald Ebbeskotte has previously served on the school board, from 2001 to 2005. He feels his prior experience is an asset. He enjoyed serving with the board and is looking forward to having a new superintendent on board.
He enjoys working for the community and with kids and spent six years coaching midget football.
Ebbeskotte doesn’t have any certain goals in mind, just to work with the board and the new superintendent.
He is a senior program analyst and has worked for Central Mutual for the past 18 years. He and his wife, Teena, have four children: Jeff, Ryan, Lindsay and Zachary.
Melisa Neal-Smith has two children in the local schools and has an interest in becoming more involved in continuing the positive smooth-running aspects of the schools.
She feels her occupation in the professional medical field as a physical therapist gives her good interpersonal and organizational skills in working with the public. While her family moved back to the area only two years ago, she said she is impressed with the good job the schools are doing and wants to continue what’s best for the children, balanced with the financial needs of the budget.
She is married to Marc Smith and they have two children: Trey and Trysten.
