Alan W. Siedel, 58, of rural Spencerville, died Thursday morning at St. Rita’s Medical Center following complications from surgery.
He was born Feb. 13, 1949, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Harold and Rita (Resnick) Siedel.
On Aug. 7, 1971, he married Janet Thompson, who survives.
A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at New Salem Cemetery south of Monticello, the Revs. Andrew J. Atkins and William “Bill” Williams officiating.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville.
Due to Mrs. Siedel’s health conditions, flowers should be omitted.
Preferred memorials are to the family.
