Michael E. Haunhorst, 57, of Landeck died at 3:56 a.m. Wednesday at his residence.
He was born July 1, 1950, in Lima, to Robert and Bertha (Knittle) Haunhorst, who survive in Landeck.
On Oct. 22, 1971, he married Louise A. Pothast, who also survives.
Other survivors include sons Todd (Trisha) Haunhorst of Delphos and Aaron (Christin) Haunhorst of St. Joe, Mich.; daughter Cara (Travis) Sherrick of Delphos; sister Tonya (Mike) Bohyer of Elida; a brother Jay (Sharon) Haunhorst of West End, NC; father-in-law Elmer Pothast of Landeck; and grandchildren Caleb and Cole Haunhorst of Delphos, Carter Sherrick of Delphos and Jacob and Elizabeth Haunhorst of St. Joe, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Alice Pothast.
A  1968 graduate of St. Johns,  Mr. Haunhorst was a U.S. Navy Reserve veteran who had been activated for two years. He worked at the former Chrysler plant in Van Wert, the Joint Systems Manufacturing plant in Lima for 30 years and the Tecumseh Box Company in Van Wert for nine years.
His memberships included St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck, the Catholic Knights of Ohio Council 76 in Landeck, the VFW post in Delphos, the Delphos Eagles lodge and the Delphos Coon and Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed riding his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle with his wife, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening and his dogs.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic  Church in Landeck, the Rev. John Fleck officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with graveside rites by the Delphos Veterans Council.
Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Friday at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake service will begin at 8:45 p.m. Friday.
Preferred memorials are to Delphos Visiting Nurses and Hospice.
