Margey Ann Alger

Feb. 19, 1932 — June 28, 2007

Margey Ann Alger, 75, of Gomer, died at 4:05 p.m. Thursday at Vancrest Health Care Center.
She was born Feb. 19, 1932 in Allen County, to Luther and Alberta (Allgire) Williams.
On April 4, 1954, she married Robert B. Alger, who survives in Gomer.
Other survivors include daughters Peg (Tom) Niese of Miller City, Elaine (Robert) Bass of Ada, Gayle Alger of Columbus and Carol Sunderland and Janet Alger, both of Gomer; sister Mary (Harmon) Binkley of Marion; brother Richard (Sue) Williams of Columbus Grove; and grandchildren Sara, Jacob, Katie and Ellen Sunderland and Aaron and Hannah Bass.
Mrs. Alger was a retired Jefferson High School teacher who earned the Jennings Scholar Award. She was also a homemaker who held memberships with Gomer United Church of Christ, Fidelis, the Welsh Society in Gomer and Church Women United. She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, canning produce and being with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Gomer United Church of Christ, the Rev. Brian Knoderer officiating. Burial will follow in Tawelfan Cemetery in Gomer.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, from 2-8 p.m. Sunday and for an hour prior to the service.
Preferred memorials are to the church.
