Scott Graham Harmon, 19, of Lima, died Friday as a result of a bus crash in Atlanta.

He was born Jan. 25, 1988, in Lima, to Gary “Bear” and Julie (Graham) Harmon of Lima. They survive in Lima.

Survivors also include a sister, Jill (Jimmie) Coppler of Lima; two brothers, Mark Harmon of Columbus and Ross Harmon of Lima; paternal grandfather Jack H. Harmon of Lima; maternal grandfather Russell Graham of Lima; and future fiance Lindsey Reiff of Elida.

He was preceded in death by grandmothers Josine Graham and Barbara Harmon.

Harmon was a freshmen at Bluffton University, where he was a member of the varsity baseball team. He was an Elida High School graduate, where he was the football and baseball team captain and tutored various other students. He held memberships with New Creation Lutheran Church and the National Honor Society. He received Northwest Ohio honors in football and baseball, the Art Shreiber Award in football and the Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award. He was known as well-natured and to always have a smile on his face. He was an avid Ohio State and Green Bay Packers fan.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Elida Fieldhouse, with Pastor Samuel Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today and from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
