Letter to the Editor

DEAR EDITOR:

My name is Patrick Lernout. I live in Waregem-Belgium at about one mile from the US Flanders Field military cemetery. I am interested in the history of World War I, so this cemetery has my special attention. I started to write a book about the soldiers buried here and am looking for information about all those men. I think the book would be a great tribute for those young Americans, who gave their lives for the freedom of my country.

In the cemetery is a soldier called Claude Walterick. He was from Delphos. He was killed in action Oct. 31, 1918. I would appreciate hearing from relatives to know more about him. I had contact with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post from Delphos who is called after him and who already helped me a lot. I know he had a brother Charles who also served in World War I.

Thank you very much in advance.
