Ottoville’s Hilvers earns CPCU
Central Insurance Companies employee Melissa Hilvers has been awarded the professional insurance designation Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters. This is a professional credential recognized throughout the risk management and insurance business. She has completed a rigorous eight-course program of academic, ethical, and experience requirements.
Hilvers started her career in 2002 as a personal lines underwriter in the Central Regional Office. In 2006 she was promoted to personal lines underwriting specialist in the Home Office Personal Lines Underwriting Department.
She graduated from Ottoville High School and received her bachelor’s of science in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University. She also holds the associate in personal insurance designation.
She and her husband, Matt, reside in Ottoville and she is a member of the National Association of Insurance Women.
